ABACO MUSIC LIBRARY
When I first met Alain Leroux (the then owner of the ABACO music library) back in 1991, I thought what he was asking was a bit odd. “Write me some tunes in such and such style, produce it, contract the players, I’ll pay for the production. And by the way, you or I won’t see any money until the music is used somewhere”. “Somewhere”?? I thought to myself… Well, some 75 titles later I look back at the opportunity he provided and think even though I had no idea what the music library business was, I’m so glad I hung in there and kept contributing. Most of this music has been used in broadcast venues of all sorts literally all over the world. What a blessing…
